What It Is
Scammers create fake stores that offer popular items at very low prices. They may take your money and never send anything, or steal your card details.
Warning Signs
- Prices are much lower than other stores.
- No physical address or real contact information.
- Poor spelling or strange wording on the site.
- Only unusual payment methods, like bank transfer or crypto.
How to Protect Yourself
- Shop with well-known, trusted websites whenever possible.
- Look for “https” and a lock icon in the address bar.
- Search the store name with the word “scam” or “reviews.”
- Use credit cards, not debit cards, for better protection.
What to Do If It Happens
- Contact your card company and dispute the charge.
- Change your online banking password.
- Avoid using the site again and warn others.
